Novella Care is deeply committed to ensuring that every property we manage is not only compliant with regulations but also a truly safe and welcoming home for residents. To strengthen this commitment, we recently held a Staff Training Session on Housing Safety and Compliance at our headquarters.
The training brought together our property managers, support staff, and partner landlords for a comprehensive day of learning and collaboration. Expert trainers led sessions covering fire safety, gas and electrical compliance, emergency preparedness, and safeguarding policies for vulnerable tenants.
The program was designed not only to provide theoretical knowledge but also to deliver practical, real-world skills. Case studies were presented where attendees worked through simulated housing challenges, including identifying safety hazards, responding to emergency situations, and maintaining tenant dignity during inspections or interventions.
A strong emphasis was placed on proactive maintenance—addressing issues before they become risks. Our trainers explained how regular inspections and tenant communication are essential to preventing problems and ensuring that properties remain in top condition.
The session also reinforced Novella Care’s core values. By prioritising Safety, we create secure environments where individuals can feel at ease. By upholding Trust, we reassure landlords and councils that their properties are managed with professionalism and care. And by maintaining Compassion and Dignity, we ensure that tenants always feel respected and supported.
Feedback from staff and landlords was overwhelmingly positive. Many expressed increased confidence in handling housing safety matters and a deeper understanding of compliance standards. This will directly translate into safer homes and better experiences for the individuals we serve.
At Novella Care, we know that well-trained staff and informed landlords are essential to delivering our mission. This training session was a vital step toward strengthening our housing services and ensuring that every property meets the highest standards of safety and respect.
